Today, schools officially opened in Liberia!!! I’m relieved to see our kids back in the classrooms where they rightfully belong. While some are fortunate to be back in school today, thousands of Liberian children unfortunately remained out. Parents are still face with the difficult decision to either put food on the table, or pay registration fees. But education is a basic human right; food and/or poverty shouldn’t dictate to said right. The fight against illiteracy continues.
ME1C2/LILFOC Foundation Inc is ecstatic to announce that June 20, 2015 is slated for its 4th Annual Education Gala!!! Save the date!!! It’s already four years! Yes, four strong years of service to country!!! If you were to ask the doubters if they predicted we be here four years after the Vision was birthed, they’ll scratch their heads speechlessly; but like Nelson Mandela said, and I quote, “it always seems impossible until it’s done.”
Because of your unflinching support, we’re still here carrying on the mission. Because you too believed that education is life. Because you believed that ignorance is bliss! And it’s because you firmly believed like we do, that every child deserves a quality education regardless of his/her last name, family background and/or location. Get ready, over these few weeks till June 20, 2015, my team and I will be calling you, tagging you, in-boxing and emailing you!!! Ebola May have delayed us, but it also resuscitated us in the process. Ebola or nothing will stop us!!! A purpose to live, is a purpose worth fighting for.
